The Asthma Drug Facility (ADF) is qualifying
anti-asthma drugs for use in developing countries with a
high incidence of asthma. This qualification aims at
ensuring the quality of those drugs and the reliability
of the manufacturers.
For the purchase of asthma drugs, the ADF will issue a
tender. This Limited International Competitive Bid (LICB)
will be for qualified manufacturers only and for their
qualified products only, according to UN procurement
rules. Interested manufacturers, or their legal
representative, are invited to submit their expression of
interest to the ADF, indicating which of the following
asthma drugs they are interested in supplying:

HFA inhaled bronchodilators (Inhaler must be
blue)
1. Inhaled Salbutamol 100 microgram
2. Inhaled Terbutaline 250
microgram

HFA inhaled corticosteroids (Inhaler must be
red)
3. Inhaled Beclomethasone 250
microgram
4. Inhaled Beclomethasone 100 microgram (for
paediatric use)
5. Inhaled Budesonide 200 microgram
6. Inhaled Fluticasone 125
microgram

The specified colour codification
is a requirement:
Bronchodilators must have a blue plastic
body.
Corticosteroid inhalers must have a red plastic
body. |

Only HFA-propelled inhalers will
be considered. |

To express their interest, manufacturers are requested
to download the "manufacturer questionnaire" and the
"product questionnaire" from the ADF website.
Once duly completed, the questionnaires must be sent to
the ADF, accompanied by the required documents,
certificates and samples. Note that a product
questionnaire and a sample must be submitted for each
product that a manufacturer is interested in
supplying.

Any applicant failing to send all the required
documents, certificates and samples will be rejected.

Manufacturing sites will be audited by an agent
selected by the ADF. The costs of conducting the audit
will be borne by ADF.

|
Manufacturers in all countries of the world are eligible
to respond to this General Procurement Notice.
