Qualification process
On a regular basis, the Asthma Drug Facility (ADF) will issue an Invitation for Expression of Interest for anti-asthma medicines for use in developing countries with a high incidence of asthma. ADF will then assess the responses received from potential suppliers. ADF's qualification process is based on WHO standards and norms. It aims to ensure the quality of those medicines and the reliability of the manufacturers. ADF will then issue a Limited International Competitive Bid to selected suppliers. Only qualified manufacturers/suppliers will be entitled to participate in such bids, and they will only be allowed to include the products for which they have received ADF qualification.
Timing
The ADF carried out a qualification in 2008 and has selected its suppliers. However, ADF is always interested to widen its supplier database. So, at any time, interested manufacturers or their legal representative who can offer any of the asthma medicines listed below, regardless of nationality or location in the world, are invited to enter into contact with the ADF so that we can contact them when a new Invitation for Expression of Interest is going to be posted.
